More comics done a million years ago

Thought I'd post some more crappy comic panels. Seriously, I did these about 14 years ago.

A little late...but

Here's a comic panel I did a million years ago. Merry Christmas.

Pin Up

This is my first attempt at a pin up (like one of my favorite painters Gil Elvgren). It's a model named Carrie LaChance and Bailey. :)

OK, I'm still not done with the paintings I'm doing, but here is a sketch of one of the funniest comedians out there right now Louis CK. Charcoal sketch on toned paper 7" x10".

Michael Bluth toned sketch

Here's another charcoal sketch on toned paper. It's Jason Bateman as put upon Michael Bluth from one of my all time favorite shows Arrested Development, which is coming back next year on Netflix.

Megan

I painted this last year, but I did't like the original background color...so I let it sit for about a year and finally got around to re-painting it. Acrylic on masonite 18"x24"

Unfinished

I never finished this one. Not sure why...I guess I got bored with it. I'm working on one now that does seem to hold my interest. Acrylic on masonite. 12"x16"

RIP Jim

My  co-worker and friend Jim "JC" Campbell passed away on Saturday. I feel like I've been punched in the gut. He was going to get married in the spring. My heartfelt thoughts and condolences go out to Mary. Jim loved playing the guitar/bass, loved the Beatles, loved movies, loved his kids and grand kids and Jim loved Mary. I feel very fortunate to have known him and to paint the portrait of JC and Mary.

Sketches on toned paper

I haven't been painting as much as I'd like. I'm blaming the damn heat. I hate summer. I have been able to do some charcoal sketches (Koh-I-Noor sepia, black and white) on Canson flannel gray paper.

Update

A two month hospital/rehabilitation stay is not fun. Thankfully things have improved a great deal. I have finally gotten back to painting and will post some new stuff soon.

Extended Absence

On December 4 2011 I had to take a family member to the ER and from there she had to be sent out of town to a bigger hospital. She had to undergo emergency surgery and is now in a rehabilitation hospital. Needless to say I have not had the time to do anything between work and hospital visits. I'm not sure how much longer it will take, but until then this blog will sit idle. Actually I don't know if I should start back up again. Seems rather pointless at this juncture.
