If adventure has a name

Acrylic on 16"x20" canvas. I did a horrible job with the cropping here. The actual painting is not crooked. Really. Seriously. I think.

Red Head

Here's yet another red head. This was not the painting I've been working on (and off) for the last few weeks. I just started this one about 2 weeks ago. Not sure what I'm going to do with the other painting.  I need to re-do some stuff. Or not.

Pencil/wash sketches

I was at the art store a couple of weeks ago and found some water soluble pencils called "Sketch and Wash" and along with a water brush I sketched/washed the above. I'm still painting with acrylics and hopefully will have something up soon. I was working on a painting for a few weeks, but I'm not really happy with I'm starting another one.

Some pencil sketches

Just thought I'd post a couple of old pencil sketches. These were done on acrylic paper and I also used a water brush.

Mark Twain. Again.

This is the third painting of Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens that I've done. He's very fun to paint. One of my early childhood memories was going to Disneyland and riding the riverboat and the recording of the riverboatman's cry "MARK TWAIN!"

Nature girl

Here is yet another water color. It's pretty evident that I need lots and lots of practice.

Clint Eastwood as The Outlaw Josey Wales

This took forever to do cause I only had a chance to work on it a little bit at a time. Clint Eastwood is great fun to paint....a lot of  interesting lines in the face.

Over the shoulder

Wow. Has it really been three months? Damn. Actually I did this painting about two months ago, but only now got around to taking a picture of it. I started another painting right after this one, but it just didn't I had to burn it. I'm almost done with another one and hopefully that will go up soon.

Gwen Stacy?

I debated about whether or not I should post this one. It's a watercolor portrait and you gotta start somewhere so I figured what the hell. I thought this sorta looked like Gwen Stacy  (Spider-man's first girlfriend for all the non-nerds) but it's actually Abbie Cornish from Sucker Punch.  This watercolor was inspired by the great Brian Stelfreeze.

I did this a while ago and forgot to post it on my blog. This is Calvin from "Calvin's Canadian Cave of Coolness".  I haven't had a chance to do anything new as of late, my Mom has been having some medical issues and that has me worried/preoccupied.

Willie Nelson

Speaking of puffin away....sorry, I couldn't resist. Here is one of my heroes. One of my favorite Willie Nelson stories is the time he was a guest at the White House and he managed to sneak away and spark up on the roof.  Acrylic on canvas 16"x20"

Puffin away

Here's another watercolor sketch of an Atlantic Puffin. I always thought that Opus from "Bloom County" always looked more like a Puffin than a Penguin. Watercolor on illustration board.

Powergirl vs. ALIEN

Hey!  It's my first post of the new year! I was just goofing off with the color watercolors I got and decided to do something I've always wanted to see. Powergirl fighting an ALIEN.
